St. Mother Teresa of Calcutta’s words about the power of love speaks most clearly when a woman becomes a mother is so true. My mother, Nita along with my father, Deacon Bill Reuter, brought 8 children into this world. Life was challenging, messy, and troublesome at times for a family of ten, but love remained supreme over all. We always knew we were loved and accepted unconditionally.
Even if you did not experience this wonderful love from your mother, we all have been given a heavenly Mother, in the Blessed Mother. As we approach Mother’s Day, May 14th and the Feast of Our Lady of Fatima, May 13th, listen with the heart to Our Lady’s words to Sr. Lucia, the eldest of the children of Fatima, “ I will never abandon you. My Immaculate Heart will be your refuge and the way that will lead you to God.”
Whether you are a mother by giving birth physically, or a spiritual mother, Happy Mother’s Day!
Thank you Mom, for all your love, your faith, your sacrifices. I love you, Annie
