"Near the cross of Jesus stood his mother and his mother’s sister, Mary the wife of Clopas, and Mary of Magdala. When Jesus saw his mother and the disciple there whom he loved, he said to his mother: ‘Woman, behold your son.’ Then he said to his disciple, ‘Behold your mother.’ And from that hour the disciple took her into his home” (Jn 19:25).
Dear Mother, the prophecy of Genesis was fullfilled at the foot of the cross.
Genesis 3:15 And I will put enmity between you and the woman, and between your offspring and hers; he will crush your head, and you will strike his heel."
Jesus, the new Adam, crushes the head of the serpent on the wood of the cross, and You dear Mary, strike his heel.
This is why our dear Lord called you "woman" at the foot of the cross instead of "mother."
Dear Mother Mary,
Keep us close to you always...as Jesus was.He gave us His last treasure on earth... You, to be our own Mother. What a priceless gift!
