Annie Kartos Perfect Sacrifice is contemplative
recording designed to rekindle in the listener a Eucharistic
amazement. Annie brought together a host of talented musicians
from New York City to breathe life into each one of 15 songs
that make up the CD. Cello, violin, mandolin, flute, percussion
and harmonica, are only some of the instruments that add unique
beauty to the album. Back-up vocals provided by Victoria Faiella,
Tom Nazziola, and Donna Cori Gibson made the project complete.
Some of the more noteworthy tracks include Come Home,
written because of a common plea from people across the country,
asking prayer for their loved ones who are no longer practicing
their Catholic faith. It is based on the return of the prodigal
son
with emphasis on the merciful love of the Father.
There is a lovely duet with Donna Cori Gibson on the song,
How Beautiful. Stay With Us Lord was
written from the inspiration of John Paul IIs letter
on the Eucharist, as well as the passage from Luke about the
apostles on the road to Emmaus.
Perfect Sacrifice, the title track, was written
as a tribute to the holy sacrifice of the Mass, but also in
response to a question Annie was asked by her spiritual director:
Who are you bringing with you to receive the infinite
merits of the Mass?
Annie also includes favorites like Schuberts Ave
Maria and the classic, well-loved hymn, O Lord
I Am Not Worthy.
