Can it possibly be 30 years have gone by since we said, “I do”? At times it seems like yesterday when we began this adventure.
Thank goodness for the sacrament of marriage. The word, sacrament is an outward sign instituted by Christ to receive grace. I can certainly think of many graces that have come our way these past 30 years.
It was no coincidence that Jesus performed His first miracle at a wedding in Cana.
Christ is always the source of this grace. Always filling us, changing us, just as He did with the water jars at Cana.
More than simply a legal agreement, marriage is a profound and deeply spiritual agreement that stems from a solemn oath (vows). For this reason, marriage establishes a life-long bond that only ends with death. ( Catechism of the Catholic Church)
I only know from our own experience that through the ups and downs, the joys and sorrows, Christ has been, and will continue to be the center of our marriage. I thank Him this day, on the feast of St. Joseph for such a wonderful husband, such a wonderful marriage.
