Recently, my husband Dave and I experienced God’s Beauty in new places. After ministry events, we travelled north on Highway 1 up the California coastline. My husband has always wanted to visit Big Sur. The steep cliffs and breathtaking views did not disappoint.
At times I held my breath as visitors perched precariously on the steep roadsides to get a “selfie” or just the right shot. I realized that God’s Beauty cannot be captured, but only admired. I too was tempted to take too many photos, but sometimes just had to stand and admire the displays of God’s Beauty before me.
It then occurred to me, that He created this beauty to bring us joy and pleasure. What a tremendous act of love!
“Let the heavens rejoice, let the earth be glad; let the sea resound, and all that is in it. Let the fields be jubilant, and everything in them; let all the trees of the forest sing for joy.”
“How many are your works, LORD! In wisdom you made them all; the earth is full of your creatures. There is the sea, vast and spacious, teeming with creatures beyond number— living things both large and small.” Psalm 104:24-25
Next time you step outside, no matter where you are, look and see and experience the wonder of God’s Beauty.
