“I will sing of the mercies of the Lord forever!”
What a great blessing to sing at The Eucharistic Convention in Auckland, New Zealand, Divine Mercy weekend, 2011. It started out a bit hazy as I stumbled sleepily into the Auckland airport looking for my host to pick me up. We managed to not find each other for quite some time, but this added to our laughter later.
My impression of the people in New Zealand can be summed up in great adjectives: rugged, optimistic, friendly, outgoing, courteous and passionate! The convention itself was so uplifting with The Eucharist, Divine Mercy and Our Blessed Mother all passionately honored. It was a true celebration of faith!
This convention has been going on now for 18 years, headed by New Zealander, John Porteous.
God’s mercy is unfathomable and universal. It was so wonderful to see that The Feast of The Divine Mercy is celebrated so beautifully across the globe.
